Top Drive System Casing Running System
The top drive casing running device is a type of special equipment based on the top drive drilling system, which integrates machinery and hydraulic pressure and is used for casing running operations or as a drive for casing drilling. BPM has developed two series of products for this device, including internal gripping type and external gripping type, suitable for casing running with different thickness and specifications. It can replace traditional casing tongs and take full advantage of top drive. By means of realizing make-up automatically and casing rotary running with circulating drilling fluid, it greatly reduces the potential safety hazards such as sticking and blockage in casing running, greatly improves the success rate of casing running and provides equipment guarantee for casing running smoothly to the planned depth. Besides, it also reduces the need of casing personnel, presenting the features of safety and efficiency.
Technical Features:
Highly-integrated (rotation, lift up and down, mud circulation), safer and more efficient during operation.
Dual-channel lifting through Elevator link and slip, micro track tong die holding technology.
Changeable slips designed suitable for different sizes of casings.
Intelligent software support based on full database software can help in casing selection, automatic execution of the optimal upturn torque connection and generation of reports.
The Top Drive System Casing Running System has achieved large-scale application in Sichuan, Chongqing and North China regions of China. Sichuan and Chongqing shale gas has been promoted and applied on-site more than 100 times. The accumulated operation length had reached to 418,000 m, of which the deepest well depth reached to 6,320 m and the longest horizontal interval has reached up-to 3,100 m. In North America and West Africa, BPM casing running system has been applied over 200 times among vertical and horizontal wells by running casings with different wall thickness and steel grade, such as 7", 9-5/8" and 13-3/8", and it has been tested by cold temperatures in North America.
